Spira Day 10: Tissue & Hearts & DNA, oh my!
Today we visited the lab of Professor Kareen Coulombe, who talked to us about her research in tissue engineering. She and her student researchers taught us about the heart and designing new tissue to help heal it!
After that we delved into DNA, and extracted some from strawberries and bananas (& a few blueberries)! Looking at the samples through microscopes, the campers were able to see strands!
