Spira Day 3: the Power of Sunshine :)
Today we focused on renewable energy and delved in-depth into solar!
We explored the inner workings of a LEED Gold-certified building, the Nelson Fitness Center -- we even went onto the roof to see the solar panels!
After seeing how solar energy can be used on a large scale, our campers crafted their own solar ovens. Each tackled the challenge in unique ways . We could see the effects of their designs when we tested them out with a tasty treat!
