Last Day of Camp! :(
Four weeks have definitely flown by as we are now on our last day of camp. This year's group of girls have been so amazing, bright, and creative throughout camp. It has been a pleasure to work and learn with them all. For our last day we started off with the final rocket presentations. While the rockets were not completely successful in launching what we really wanted to teach the campers is the beauty of engineering. While its not definitely not an easy profession, we wanted to give the girls an avenue to work together as a team on a bigger project and really get a chance to brainstorm and use research like a real engineer, and they sure learned so much not only from this final project but from all four weeks of camp!
After presentations we gave the girls a formal tour of Brown's campus and organized a fun campus wide scavenger hunt. The girls got to run around campus completing various tasks and finding various things which sure did add to the fun factor of our last day. The day closed out with paper plate superlatives and certificates as well as a coordinator panel for the girls to ask the coordinators about college & high school. It has been a rewarding experience working with these girls and we hope that wherever they go they continue to be champions of success.
